After a few back and forths with Snowbound Magazine Editor | Contributor, Lauren Jacobsen, her article went live featuring the full story of Soul Poles' development as a cause-oriented brand on a mission.

From the days of SP Founder's Bryon Friedman and Erik Schlopy on the World Cup Circuit, to our current campaigns partnering with non-profit organization, Snowbound captured the essence.  Here's a sneak peak...

Pirched on the peak, snow crystals pepper the bare skin exposed below your goggles as you watch the heli rise - whop, whop, whop - up and then nose dive down into a muffled abyss.  Time pauses, you look around to see nothing but snow-capped mountains for as far as the eye can see and below at wind buff breaking into deep pockets of powder in spine laden terrain.  A breath-filled moment brings gratitude and static, restless, energy as you await the radio's chatter.

With the passing of legendary stoker, Shane McConkey in March 2009, the bar was left high, very high for a new generation of ski seekers of stoke, radicality, and fun.  After all, this is what Skiing is about, right?  Going “out for a rip” with your buddies, taking a few turns, whooping in the powder snow and tearing up the cord.  Here to fill the winter daydreams void in a summer of trimming lawns, submitting TPS reports, and pouring Hefeweizen, is the “Pat and Tats Show.”

When Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines in early November 2013 it was one of the strongest tropical cyclones ever recorded and the deadliest Philippine typhoon on record, killing at least 6,268 people in that country alone.

The news coverage following the disaster ran around the clock, with aid and volunteer workers flowing in from around the world.  Unfortunately, as the story lost its freshness and the viewers became numb to the gruesome photos of death and devastation, global news stations transitioned to new stories, leaving the Philippines with dwindling support.

Our partner, Goal Zero, saw the opportunity to...

We had a chance to sit down with Tahoe-based, Michigan-born, Conor Pelton to recap his first season on the Freeride World Tour and to discuss his High Fives Foundation Signature Soul Pole.  With every sale on soulpoles.com, $10 is donated to support High Fives' mission to raise money and awareness for athletes who have suffered a life-altering injury while pursuing their dream in the winter action sports community.

With skiing's progression into steeper terrain, bigger airs, and more technical tricks, the consequences of falling are only getting higher.  Conor recognizes and respects this fact every time he steps into his bindings...
